My semester exam for my second year of Tristar was a restaurant rebrand. I had recently ate at Mellow Mushroom and loved it so I thought it would be cool to redesign their logo. I had no idea what I was getting into until I researched their history. I thought Mellow Mushroom was just a small pizza place in Lima, Ohio but it turns out there are hundreds of establishments all over the US. I found out that they had been around since 1974 and had their own comic strip with their characters like Mel. O Mushroom. I wanted to remake one of the characters in a way that also tied into what the business was all about; pizza.
